Marsden
Marsden is set in the Colne Valley,  to the west of Huddersfield and is home to the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and Standedge Tunnel, the longest, deepest and highest canal tunnel in Britain. Marsden is an excellent starting point for walkers, cyclists and riders as it is next to the Peak District Park, Pennine Way and the National Trust Marsden Moor Estate.
The Old Cobblers
The Old Cobblers is set in the heart of Marsden village, opposite the impressive St Bartholomew’s Church. The cottage is a 1 minute walk from the village shopping street, which has a range of pubs, eateries, shops and a convenience store with cash machine.  It is 5 minutes walk from Marsden train station, which links Marsden to Huddersfield, Leeds and Manchester.  The recently refurbished cottage has an open-plan living room (with sofa bed), dining area and kitchen on the first floor . The bedroom, with kingsize bed and bathroom, are on the ground floor.  The cottage has its own central heating and a fully equipped kitchen. Guests can enjoy a central village location in a fully self contained house with a duck filled brook outside the window.  The cottage also offers gated off-road parking for up to three cars.
Everything you need is on the doorstep!
The Old Cobblers served the village of Marsden for many years as a Cobblers shop in the mid 20th century.  The upstairs was used as the shop and workroom and the downstairs was for storage.  Prior to that, it was a barber’s shop.  Photos inside depict this history. Following renovation work a few years ago, the external appearance of the old building remains but with a modern comfortable interior.
